We have been awarded a start up grant

Working alongside the Community Action Network (CAN) we have been helped to secure a start up grant of £2900. The grant has come from The Dorset Community Foundation who offer these grants from a pot of money called The Ethnically Diverse Community Project Fund for strength and sustainability, or EDC for short.

This pot of money will help us to set up our new group with IT equipment, software and also engage designers to produce our website and logo. We can also produce promotional materials to be used at our events and also contact cards for invitees. We can also network with other regional groups who share our goals.

In an increasingly tight economy we are very pleased to have been given this head start in our first year. CAN has also helped us enormously with training for officers in many aspects of policy writing and funding bids, setting up bank accounts and formulation of our constitution etc.
